Studio Recitals:
Students of all ages are welcome (but not required) to perform in Studio Recitals. These are held twice a year; one in the fall, and one in the spring. A few weeks before the recital, I will post a Sign-Up Genius link so you can reserve your spot in the recital. A reception will follow each recital, so please bring a small plate of goodies or a drink to share. I will provide plates, cups, and napkins.
The Fall Studio Recital will be Sunday, October 17 at 3:30 pm in Antonello Hall.
The Spring Studio Recital will be Sunday, March 16 at 3:30 pm in Antonello Hall.

Crescendo for Piano:
Crescendo for Piano is a MacPhail program that encourages and promotes students’ growth at all stages of musical development. This leveled program aims to develop well-rounded musicians, reward students’ progress and set benchmarks for the advancement of musical skills. For each level, students perform repertoire pieces, etudes, and technical skills; trophies are awarded upon completion of each level. Crescendo students have the opportunity to participate in juries, classes, field trips, and additional performances. Visit MacPhail's website for more details; contact MacPhail Student Services to register.
MacPhail Center for Music Events:
MacPhail Center for Music offers many other educational and performance opportunities for students, such as keyboard department recitals, Honors Recitals, group classes, summer camps, and more! Please visit MacPhail's Events page to learn more.
Additional Opportunities for Suzuki Students:
Group Classes: In addition to their weekly private lesson, Suzuki students attend monthly group classes, which run from October to May. Please attend these group classes regularly; they provide valuable performance experience and even more valuable social connections with other piano students. This is completely unique to the Suzuki program and is already included in your tuition, so please make every effort to attend!
Suzuki Department Challenges: students may participate in the 100 Day Practice challenge, 100 Day Listening challenge, Attend 10 Concerts challenge, and/or Perform in 10 Recitals challenge! Students who complete these challenges will be recognized at the studio recital and in the Gavotte newsletter. Check my studio door or simply ask me for more details.
Suzuki Department Recitals: Department recitals are an exciting chance to hear a variety of students from all Suzuki studios. These gatherings of the Suzuki program provide inspiration for younger players, leadership roles for older students, and a social environment for the celebration of every student’s musical growth. Once a student has polished a piece to a high-performance level, they may be nominated to perform on these recitals by their teacher. Recitals are held on Friday evenings at 6:00 p.m. in Antonello Hall. Performers should dress for the occasion.
Suzuki Summer Institute: MacPhail's Summer Institute is a fun and inspirational camp. Check my studio door and the MacPhail website for more information in the Spring.
Suzuki Association of Minnesota Graduation: students may record videos of specified "graduation pieces" for each Suzuki level. Participating students receive trophies; supportive, constructive written comments; and may participate in a graduation recital at Sudin Hall on the campus of Hamline University.
